Min Ba3d 7mare Ma Yenbout 7achich - من بعد حماري ما ينبُتْ حَشيش
Literal Translation: "After my Donkey, no Grass shall grow!"

This expression has its origins in the peasant Lebanese world and spread through the cities with time. This saying implies some sort of selfishness whereas one seeks his own interests before thinking of others' or while disregarding others'. It is excatly equivalent to the French expression: "Après moi, le déluge". It is often used to criticize someone of selfish and self-centered nature or to express a certain position in a given conflictual situation.

Sample Conversation:

Person 1: "Man, those emails you blind-copied the big boss on will bring down all the heads of departments!".

Person 2: "I know! But since I'm submitting my resignation, I might as well do it with dignity and reveal what's been going on."

Person 1: "I get you! "Min Ba3d 7mare Ma Yenbout 7achich"! "

Person 2: "Exactly."
