Daily Slang

Metel Nesswen el Feren - متل نسوان الفرن
Metel Nesswen el Feren - متل نسوان الفرن : Lebanese Slang, of unknown origin. Meaning: "Like the bakery ladies". This slang is used to refer to a person that talks too much. The idea is related to the never-ending discussions that used to take place when ladies in old times used to wait for fresh bread at the bakeries.

In English means: "Hit the water, it stays water". It is used to indicate that a person/situation is not going to change, no matter what. e.g. Person 1: "I told him not to smoke in the office for 10 times now!" Person 2: "...and he's still doing it" Person 1: "De2 el mayy, mayy!"
